This beautiful piece was custom built around 1983 in Washington state by an artisan woodworker (artist unknown) that was a member of the Northwest Wood Worker Guild. The wood is mahogany and is built using the Asian style of wood working. This style leaves the large pieces as floating panels to allow for wood expansion. It was built as a stand up desk with the brass rail as a foot rest and a lid that lifts up the full length and width of the desk top. Back is finished as well. Top panel is hinged for a large, secret storage area. The piece is in excellent condition. Have enjoyed it for years, but standing for work is no longer an option. LOCAL PICK UP ONLY.
