Inventory Control Specialist
Job Description The Inventory Control Specialist contributes to the success of Sur La Table by reviewing inventory totals and processing adjustments to ensure accurate inventory and reporting, and conducting daily inventory analysis to solve inventory problems.
Job Duties and
Responsibilities:
Prepares detailed error reports to identify inventory discrepancies and reasons.
Communicates with Stores, DC, and HQ teams to resolve inventory problems.
Ensures accurate on-time processing of various inventory transactions.
Including adjustments, transfers, vendor drop ship and vendor returns.
Works with the Merchandise and DC teams to process sample requests.
Reconciles inbound/outbound store shipments, enters corrections and reports exceptions.
Provides direction and ensures accurate reporting for damaged/defective goods.
Ensures compliance with internal control procedures.
Assists with the processing of cycle counts and annual physical inventories.
Experience and Required
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years inventory or accounting experience is required.
Retail experience strongly preferred.
Familiarity with various inventory management systems.
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Detail oriented, with excellent organizational skills.
Strong analytical skills to solve problems.
Passion for cooking and familiarity with kitchen merchandise is a plus.
