Inventory Management Specialist (EX)

Major duties include but are not limited to:
Manages inventory, sets initial stock and par levels and reorder points, and resolves issues for a complete medical or service category Services as subject matter expert to all services and service lines. Acts as a central point of contact for the coordination of commodity support and the resolution of logistics problems across organizational lines. Makes decisions and commitments for the medical center on medical/surgical supplies that materially affect the ability to provide medical care to Veterans. Implements federal and agency programs for the return and re-utilization of medical supplies. Serves as the primary responder to the VA National Center for Patient Safety Recall Office for their area of responsibility Promotion Potential:

Specialized
Experience:
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-5 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
control an assigned class of expendable material for the catchment area; make decisions and commitments for the medical center on medical/surgical supplies that materially affect the health care mission of both inpatients and outpatients; research opportunities for and conducts analysis of potential cost savings, efficiencies, and process improvements using quantitative analysis and historical usage patterns; utilize performance measures to conduct forecasting and quantitative analysis. Participate in the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). This position is established to perform developmental assignments similar to duties contained in the full performance position GS-09 level. OR, Education:
Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have 1 full year of graduate level education, or, superior academic achievement. (Transcripts Required). OR, Combination:
Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education beyond some specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 grade level but less than one year, and I have more than six months, but less than 1 years of graduate education. Physical Requirements:
Work is normally accomplished in an office setting; however, due to the nature of the position and duties, may be called upon to assist in the receipt, storage and distribution of various supplies, primarily consisting of lifting light boxes generally less than 40 pounds, utilizing appropriate material handing devices, and placing items on shelves or carrying them elsewhere on station or within the catchment area. Must maintain applicable training and licensing to operate assigned equipment. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
