Health System Specialist

Major Duties Include, but are not limited to:
Serves as liaison for and represents their respective Executive member at meetings within the organization and to VISN, VACO and external organizations Assists in the management and follow up of all issues within their Executive member's purview Serves as an active team member with the executive office staff and Executive member's direct reports and oversees the daily operations of their Pentad member's executive office activities Attends daily briefings if required, to advise and update on schedules, hot topics Manages special projects system-wide Manages processes for recruitment and hiring of Executive direct reports and Service Line Leaders including the full spectrum of HR recruitment and retention functions as follows:
Review, update, and/or write new position descriptions and classification requests Coordinate resume review and rating process and interview panels Write requests for approvals of relocation expenses Write requests for and coordinate hiring of fee personnel when required Advises on personnel actions for respective service lines Tracks performance review plans, competencies and forms Reviews/prepares pay for performance forms and Special Contribution Awards If required by Executive member, reviews all suspenses for respective service lines before submission to VISN Participates in process improvement projects at the service level and system-wide Identifies, develops and reviews systems to improve efficiencies in organization operations As directed by their Executive member, serves as liaison with Public Affairs to assist with briefings and tours for visits by VISN or VACO leadership Tracks service line action items for follow-up and resolutions Sits in on monthly briefings by service line leaders Collaborates with facility Strategic Planner to enhance facility plan and ensure appropriate service line involvement Analyzes data and provide recommendations related to respective service lines performance Facilitates multi-service committees and task work groups arid serves as a member of various facility committees and executive boards Prepares Issue briefs and Heads Up notices Presents Executive Office's New Employee Orientation section Keeps Executive members informed of internal and external issues Serves as liaison with and advises service lines and programs of internal and external issues of importance Serves as liaison with Service Line Leaders for review and updating of policies and SOP's Develops training plans and coordinates rotational training experiences for DoD administrative residents, VA administrative trainees, interns, residents and fellows Coordinates V-tel and computer logistics for Executive level meetings and presentations Promotion Potential:
The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level. Work Schedule:

GS-12 Specialized
Experience:
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-11 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Prepare and provide presentations including oral and written explanations of data displays and their implications for healthcare management. Develop, implement, and interpret technical and conceptual improvements for resource allocation. Generate, document, analyze, and describe data reports for implementation Participate in the development, management, and administration of nationwide resource and workload databases. Perform trainings regarding national budget formulation and resource allocation processes. GS-13 Specialized
Experience:
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-12 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Prepare and provide presentations including oral and written explanations of data displays and their implications for healthcare management. Write policy and procedure statements, newsletters, reports, letters, and memoranda. Develop, implement, and interpret technical and conceptual improvements for resource allocation. Generate, document, analyze, and describe data reports for implementation Assist in the validation of organizational reports and products to ensure the integrity of the source data and processing techniques. Participate in the development, management, and administration of nationwide resource and workload databases. Perform trainings regarding national budget formulation and resource allocation processes. You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position:

A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Physical Requirements:
There are no special physical demands except the ability to work under pressure, tight time deadlines, and rapidly changing priorities. This work is primarily sedentary, but hours may be long and irregular. Work Environment:
Work is typically performed in adequately lighted and climate controlled offices in two divisions 42 miles apart. A weekly presence at both divisions may be required. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
