Job Summary and Mission
Starbucks is seeking an experienced, self-motivated, creative API systems analyst to join Starbucks' world-class platforms and services team which builds, deploys, and sustains the services and systems that power our highly innovative, visible and engaging customer-facing digital solutions. You'll be responsible for the value-driven definition and design of key system solutions supporting these digital platform technologies that fulfill the needs of our customer and business goals.
The senior functional analyst is passionate about eliciting and articulating business requirements as epics and user stories that are actionable by engineers and testers as they build high-quality and elegant solutions that meet or exceed user and business expectations.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Solution Delivery
Gather, analyze, and document business requirements to drive the design and development of technology solutions.
Leverage leading technology expertise to propose appropriate solution options.
Clearly define and communicate functional and non-functional requirements.
Drive alignment on MVP scope and feature release roadmaps.
Lead and collaborate on iterative solution design and prototyping efforts as needed.
Coordinate solution delivery activities across Scrum teams and vendors as required.
Serve as subject matter expert to both technology and business teams for one or more service domains.
Create detailed system design, architecture and end user documentation to define work delivered by the team, and to support solution maintenance and future enhancements.
Production Support
Leverage subject matter expertise in analyzing and troubleshooting complex system/user issues to drive resolution and determine root cause
Coordinate issue resolution efforts across peer support groups, technical support teams, and vendors as required
Coordination/Leadership
Effectively facilitates and negotiates through challenging situations
Interfaces across all organization levels comfortably with internal business customers, technical support resources, and external business partners
Leads and influences groups though effective decision making
Supports the development of less-experienced analysts through coaching and mentoring
Supports team building and internal process improvement efforts
Relates system solutions to broader organization strategies and objectives
Summary of Experience
Relevant functional/business process experience (7 years)
Solution design, testing, and implementation experience (7 years)
Applicable application and system configuration experience (7 years)
End user support and documentation experience (5 years)
Basic Qualifications
Experience developing clear, thorough user stories and acceptance criteria that drive effective solution development.
Deep understanding of the system architecture and business logic concepts behind complex, enterprise-class software solutions.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to apply knowledge of multidisciplinary solution delivery principles and practices to achieve successful outcomes in cross functional projects and activities.
Skilled in the utilization of system development methodologies throughout the full project lifecycle.
Ability to identify/define viable technology and/or process solutions delivering required business capabilities.
Knowledge/skill to objectively assess benefits, costs, and feasibility of proposed solution options.
