Global Retail Engineering & Delivery works on mission critical systems supporting Starbucks stores across North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific. Our highly diverse and talented team plays a key role in providing IT services and solutions to our partners, stores, and customers.
In this role, you will contribute to Starbucks success as a leader bringing together user needs and business strategy to deliver solutions aligned with our top strategic initiatives. You will interact with various IT and business stakeholder groups in a highly collaborative manner using agile development methodology.
To be successful you must have proven skills in designing system and process solutions supporting business objectives across a global user base, with a relentless commitment to delivering innovative, quality work while supporting the effectiveness and growth of our team and modeling and acting in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Solution Delivery
Collaborates and supports project initiation efforts in definition of project scope and establishing solution approach, working with project management to develop work plans, estimates, and timelines
Proactively identifies and objectively assesses system and process improvement opportunities
Works effectively within an agile scrum framework, collaborating with teammates to drive design and development of technology and business process solutions
Drives requirements elicitation, user story creation, and backlog refinement, working closely with product owners, scrum masters and development teams
Leads iterative solution design and prototyping efforts utilizing user-centric design techniques; directs application configuration activities
Leverages subject matter expertise and experience to guide and mentor team members with solution options and work review
Assesses engagement needs of the team for unplanned, new and changing business priorities
Applies SOA and restful API design concepts
Production Support
Leverages system and process expertise in analyzing and troubleshooting complex system/user issues to drive resolution and determine root cause
Coordinates issue resolution efforts across peer support groups and technical support teams, and vendors as required
Effectively coordinates and communicates issue resolution with end-users
Correlates related production issues and assesses trends to identify broader improvement opportunities
Extends technology support internationally to support global business operations
Leadership
Partners with business stakeholders and proposes solutions and improvements
Leads smaller streams of work, interfacing comfortably across all organizational levels, influencing and gaining alignment within and outside the team
Facilitates/negotiates through challenging situations, demonstrating effective problem assessment and decision making
Works effectively in a self-directed manner with minimal direction from lead and/or manager
Generates new ideas and propagates an innovative mindset within and outside the team
Mentors team members and peers in developing required technical skills, functional knowledge, and business acumen
Supports team building and drives internal process improvement efforts
Summary of Experience
Relevant functional/business process experience (7 Years)
Solution design, testing, and implementation experience (7 Years)
Applicable application and system configuration experience (7 Years)
Production support, system maintenance, upgrades, and enhancement delivery experience (5 Years)
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrates working knowledge of all facets of systems development lifecycle and IT operations
Strong knowledge of configuration and key integration points of relevant applications/modules/platforms
Leverages user-centric design concepts in conjunction with agile prototyping, development, and testing to deploy highly engaging technology solutions to the end user
Ability to couple technology expertise with deep understanding of business requirements to design and deploy highly reliable, scalable, and sustainable global technology solutions
Working understanding of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and restful API applications
Collaboratively and objectively assesses benefits, costs, and viability of proposed solution options and drives alignment across a diverse group of stakeholders
Applies knowledge of business principles and technology practices to achieve successful outcomes in cross-functional activities
Strong business process design skills with the ability to drive process improvement initiatives
Strong analytic and problem solving skills; knowledge of SQL and use of ad-hoc database query tools for data analysis and troubleshooting system issues
Strong oral and written communication skills
Knowledge of retail inventory practices and accounting preferred
Knowledge of effective testing practices and methodologies
Ability to support the efforts of others and coach/mentor less-experienced analysts
Ability to work effectively in a self-directed manner, managing multiple priorities, meeting deadlines, and driving issues to resolution
Ability to collaborate and drive consensus across a diverse group of customers with conflicting priorities

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
