Pilot, Helicopter

The position of Pilot, Helicopter functions as Second in Command of a two-pilot helicopter flight operation. Operations are based primarily on board large private luxury yachts that operate throughout the world. Responsibilities include not only normal flight duties, but also assist in acquisition of permits and permissions to fly in various countries, some light maintenance (with supervision), washing and cleaning the aircraft, and other duties as assigned. This position requires extensive domestic and international travel, the ability to work and sometimes live in close proximity to other crewmembers, and a positive attitude toward non-flying as well as flying duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Act as or Second-In-Command of Helicopter aircraft.
Assure that aircraft is operated in accordance to all applicable Federal Aviation and State Regulations.
Maintain currency of Passport, all personal licenses, certificates and training.
Determines that aircraft is current on it's maintenance inspection status and is ready for dispatch
Responsible for the checking of weather, air traffic, navigation facilities, NOTAMS, TFR's, airport or other approved landing zones, emphasizing safety, comfort and mission accomplishments.
Assist PIC in duties that affect outcome of successful flight.
Delegate/accept duties as necessary. This delegation of duty shall be used as a training aid to upgrade the capabilities of the SIC (when applicable).
Pilot may be assigned to the command seat at the Captain's direction if he/she has a command seat letter signed by the Chief Pilot.
Monitor weather conditions en route that may affect the flight, i.e., destination weather, wind conditions, fuel supply, alternate airports, air traffic, etc.
Choose well-qualified agencies to service the aircraft, closely monitoring the fuel cost and the performance of such servicing.
Participate in the decision process regarding decisions to continue, cancel or implement alternate plans for flights where an element of uncertainty must be considered.
Inform the home base of his/her place of contact, arrival and departure times and passenger manifest changes.
Assist with the completion of aircraft maintenance logbook for each day's flying activities.
Responsible for proper check list usage for all segments of ground and flight operations.
Know and adhere to all security procedures.
Conduct himself/herself in a businesslike manner, properly dressed, confident, courteous and showing evident good will that will be reassuring to passengers and indicate a concern for their safety, comfort and well being.
Strong team building and leadership skills along with a strong work ethic are required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Hold a US Commercial with Instrument rating or ATP Helicopter Pilot Certificate

Absence of history of violations of Federal Aviation Administration regulations.
Maintain a, US First Class Medical and Valid Passport.
Hold a US FCC Radio Operator's permit
Knowledge of all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations.
Experience maintaining currency of all personal licenses, certificates and training.
Ability to determine that aircraft is current on it's maintenance inspection status and is ready for dispatch
Experience requiring all equipment, documents and certificates are aboard the aircraft prior to dispatch.
Experience monitoring and checking of weather, air traffic, navigation facilities, NOTAMS, airport and runway requirement.
Ability to accept and delegate duties consistent with the capabilities of that individual.
Experience monitoring weather conditions en route that may affect the flight, i.e., destination weather, wind conditions, fuel supply, alternate airports, air traffic, etc.

Preferred
A & P Mechanic's Certificate highly desirable
Boat/Offshore Flight Experience desirable
International IFR and VFR experience desirable
Required computer skills
MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Able to learn and use applications specific to aviation operations
Education/experience/certifications
Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from accredited institution and 4 plus years relevant experience, OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special remarks regarding work environment
Travel estimated to be 70%
