The speech recognition team at Alexa is working on new services to expedite release of new features to our customers. Come work with us on launching several v1 projects that will redefine how we benchmark, evaluate, and launch new speech models.
As a member of the Alexa Language Technologies Infrastructure team, you will work with teams across the Alexa organization, both science and engineering, and have direct impact on how our customers interact with Alexa. You will be responsible for architecture, scoping, planning, implementation, and successful launch of one of our new initiatives. We are a new team with greenfield projects and have an opportunity to influence technology choices, so if you are passionate about software, then let's talk!
Basic Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
B.S. in Computer Science, or equivalent background in data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design and systems architecture.

years of professional experience building and maintaining scalable distributed systems across the full software lifecycle including design, implementation, testing, operations, and maintenance.
Fluency in one or more modern programming languages such as Java, C# or C++, or Python
Hands on experience in designing and launching cloud-based services using AWS, Azure, or similar.

Familiarity with JavaScript and one or more UI frameworks.
Machine learning fundamentals.
Experience in project scoping and planning.
Experience in defining system architectures and exploring technical feasibility tradeoffs.
Demonstrated leadership abilities in an engineering environment in driving operational excellence and best practices.
Demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in a highly innovative and fast paced environment.
The ability to take raw product requirements and develop software architectures and designs to bring them to life.
Excellence in technical communication with peers and non-technical cohorts.
Demonstrated ability to mentor other software developers to maintain architectural vision and software quality.
Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
