As a key member of our leadership team, you will help to continually develop the results-driven initiatives that define our success and are transforming healthcare. The Administrative Director, Clinical Informatics provides leadership in the development and implementation of strategies and policies that support the corporate mission, vision and business strategy. This
position
provides strategic planning and consultation to VMMC leadership for selection; implementation and optimization of Clinical information systems that support the best possible use of the systems and that support and enhance patient safety. Principal areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:- Collaborating with nursing, information technology, medical and operational leaders to define and lead clinical/nursing informatics initiatives in inpatient and outpatient clinical areas. Serving as an active member of both the Hospital Leadership Team and the Ambulatory Leadership Team - Developing strategic plans for clinical and nursing informatics systems and projects. Creating and ensuring adherence to project timelines, scope definitions, and capital and operational budgets. Defining, securing, and appropriating resources to meet goals related to clinical/nursing informatics. - Facilitating integration of information and knowledge to support patients, providers and nurses and supporting direct care staff in decision-making through use of information, structures, processes and technology. - Maintaining a broad knowledge of new nursing care technologies and serving as a resource to clinical staff, nursing leadership and IT department in assessing new technological opportunities that impact care delivery, enhance patient safety and improve workflow efficiency. Qualifications - Current WA State RN license - Master's degree in nursing, informatics, business administration or related discipline - Undergraduate or graduate degree in nursing (BSN or MSN) - 7 or more years experience in an inpatient or clinical setting, including 5 or more years in a managerial capacity - 3 or more years of informatics experience - Demonstrated systems thinking - Strong leadership skills - Exceptional communication, negotiation and relationship management Skills with staff at all levels - Strong planning and analytical skills required - Demonstrated talent and passion for innovation Virginia Mason offers much more than competitive compensation and benefits. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
