Amazon Publishing is seeking an innovative, passionate, market-savvy Acquisitions Editor with a primary focus on acquiring science fiction, fantasy, and speculative fiction novels for the 47North imprint.
You will be responsible for discovering and acquiring exceptional content, managing author and agent relationships, and collaborating with marketing, publicity, production, and author relations teams to deliver quality books and world-class author experiences.
This is a multi-faceted job in a fast-paced environment that requires facility with date, flexibility, creativity, and a sense of humor.
Key job responsibilitiesIdentify, evaluate, and develop submissions, projects, and proposals to acquire for 47North, including:
o Monitoring trend and sales datao Strong analytical thinking paired with excellent editorial sensibilityo Strong track record of discovering, developing, and publishing bestselling titles and authorso Working closely with authors to develop their work and careerso Working closely with internal teams to shepherd work from manuscript through publication and beyondo Developing and maintaining strong relationships with literary agentsAbout the teamAmazon Publishing is the full-service publishing arm of Amazon.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
