Intern - Economics, MCF Science

We are looking for an economist intern who can apply economic methods to address our business problems.
The ideal candidate will work with scientists and engineers to measure the impacts of marketing or cost-saving initiatives, and estimate models and algorithms on large scale data.
We are looking for creative thinkers who can combine a strong technical economic toolbox with a desire to learn from other disciplines, and who know how to execute and deliver on big ideas as part of an interdisciplinary technical team.
These are full-time positions at 40 hours per week, with compensation being awarded on an hourly basis.
You will learn how to conduct economic research and analysis to support business decision-making process, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and write documents for business audiences.
These skills will translate well into writing applied chapters in your dissertation and provide you with work experience that may help you with placement.
Roughly 85% of previous cohorts have converted to full time economics employment at Amazon.

Key job responsibilitiesBasic qualifications include experience with reduced-form causal inference and strong writing skills.
Preferred qualifications include expertise in economic forecasting, experience working with large data sets, and familiarity of R and Python.
A day in the lifeWork with teammates to apply economic methods to business problems.
This might include identifying the appropriate research questions, writing code to implement a DID analysis, or writing and presenting a document with findings to business leaders.
Economists also collaborate with partner teams throughout the process, from understanding their challenges, to developing a research agenda that will address those challenges, to help them implement solutions.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
