Caregiver/Personal Assistant
ArcherHousehold ArcherHousehold Seattle, WA Seattle, WA Part-time Full-time Contract Part-time Full-time Contract $250 a day $250 a day Seeking a three days a week female live in caregiver for a very physically fit 82 year old who still loves to walk, and dance but unfortunately is in the mid advanced stages of Alzheimer's.
You will assist the family with her live in care in a desirable location next to a white water river east of Seattle.
You will be an especially good fit if you have prior experience with Alzheimer's or dementia.
Also an especially good fit if you share her British background.
Apart from that, a good fit is someone physically fit enough to go on multiple walks.
Someone who is patient and willing to engage this dear, somewhat weary, and often anxious soul as much as possible by allowing her to help with duties like meal preparation and basically just a loving comforting presence.
Help the family honor this dedicated homemaker who has cared for others her whole life with the dignity, care, and respect she is so worthy of receiving at this point in her life.
Duties:
-Companionship, meal preparation, taking to exercise classes at the senior center and possibly dance classes.
Very frequent walking companion.
Prompting for grooming morning and night.
Prompting for changing into and out of pajamas.
Manage medication (minimal, 11am and at night to assist with sleeping).
Still fully continent so no needs to assist with toileting.
Nearby family will handle grocery shopping and assistance with showering to start.
Hours:
Looking for one part-time live in caregiver three days a week @$250 per day.
(Sleeps through most nights so minimal need for assistance during night hours other than a redirect to bed occasionally.
) Job share with another caregiver who will handle four days a week with flexibility between each of you If you need to adjust days.
Also fine to live in the house on your off days if you would like to live in on a month to month basis.
Compensation:
Hours of care in winter generally from 9am wake up to around 7pm time for bed.
During nights, would generally only require you to be physically there as the dear soul you are providing care for will only rarely wake up in the nighttime and generally sleeps during hours of darkness.
If living in on days off no additional rental.
Accommodations provided month to month included in compensation.
