3-Month Temporary Position (24/7), with the opportunity for a permanent Weekend Position (Saturday-Sunday, 7:

00 PM) REACH Center of Hope is an overnight shelter dedicated to assisting homeless families from diverse backgrounds.
As part of our commitment to providing essential services during the winter months, we are temporarily transitioning to a 24-hour operation.
We are seeking Shelter Support Staff committed to delivering equitable services and support to all individuals and families seeking assistance.
This role is vital in providing a safe and supportive environment for homeless families on their journey to stability.

Shelter Operations:
Welcome and manage shelter guests, including waitlist management and scheduling new intakes.
Oversee chores, laundry, and shower access.
Assist with meal preparation, ensuring adherence to food safety protocols.
Support guests with shelter needs and promptly de-escalate conflicts.
Maintain staff logs, enter client information into the database, and complete incident reports.
Ensure safety and security of shelter property, reporting concerns as needed.
Collaborate with clients on grounds maintenance and cleaning schedules.
Accurately document client and staff information while maintaining confidentiality.
Attend staff meetings and adhere to policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Crisis Management and Safety:
Enforce shelter requirements, de-escalate conflicts, and handle emergencies following policies and protocols.
Complete evening communication notes, reports, and logs.
Provide crisis management and set appropriate limits with an equity lens.
Monitor all client sleeping areas, bathrooms, kitchen, and communal spaces.
Safety:
Ensure consistent adherence to safety policies and protocols.
Maintain facility security during the shift.
Communicate in a timely manner with team members, Lead Case Manager, or Program Manager as needed.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Proficiency in the PC environment including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Strong teamwork and problem-solving skills.
High school equivalency or one year of relevant work experience.
Preferred experience working in a shelter setting or with a homeless population.
Ability to set appropriate boundaries and maintain professionalism in a high-stress environment.
Detail-oriented.
Self-motivated,resourceful, flexible, and positive attitude.
Strong communication skills (reading, writing, speaking, and listening).
Must be fully vaccinated and provide proof.
Preferred certifications:
CPR Certification, Food Handler Certification, First Aid Certification.
Job Conditions:
Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and potentially infectious materials.
Exposure to cleaning supplies, pests, chemicals, temperature fluctuations, dust, noise, and odors.
