Position Overview:
As a Senior React Native Developer, you will take a lead role in the development of our news app, ensuring its functionality, performance, and user experience are top-notch.
You will work closely with a Software Development Manager and 9 engineers, as well as collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers and backend developers, to deliver a seamless and visually appealing news consumption experience to our customers.
Key
Responsibilities:
Technology Work closely with the product owner to understand functional requirements and translate them into technical solutions Lead the development of new features and improvements for news apps with an emphasis on quality and predictable delivery timeline Write clean, maintainable code following coding standards and conduct regular code reviews Analyze technical challenges and propose solutions for bug resolution and performance optimization People Model a collaborative, flexible and positive mindset Participate in code reviews and offer constructive feedback Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders Share expertise to enhance the team's technical capabilities Participate in the hiring process Process Operate with minimal oversight beyond high-level direction Own operational challenges and their remediation Practice open communication across teams and silos Write technical specs, documentation and play a key role in planning future work Identify risks early Qualifications 5
years of experience developing React Native or React applications Strong expertise in JavaScript, TypeScript, React Experience with Node.
js, GCP, S3, Firebase Robust knowledge of design patterns and modern code quality standards Experience with many aspects of SDLC and deploying software to production Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate with non-engineer Strong debugging and triage skills Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent practical experience Bonus Experience with building native applications for iOS or Android Experience with one or more advertising platforms and APIs (GAM) Experience with building and deploying server-side technologies and services Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc.

Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
Full time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, quarterly and annual incentive plan bonuses, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, 15 paid vacation days, 2 paid personal days, 9 paid holidays, 40 hours of paid sick leave, parental leave, and employee stock purchase plan.
