Summary:
As the Construction Site Superintendent Intern, you will work alongside Project Managers and Estimators on a wide variety of design and construction projects from heavy civil engineering construction to building construction to renovation.
Through this internship, you will gain hands-on site experience and mentorship in what it means to be a Site Superintendent.
We will provide the training and guidance necessary to successfully complete assigned tasks.
You will gain an overall understanding of construction site quality control processes, health and safety procedures, and the ability to interact with managers and subcontractors on job sites.
This internship will mostly take place on a construction job site (examples:
West Point Miliary Academy in New York or Haskell Indian Nations University in Kansas).
The first part of the internship will be based in a remote or telecommuting location, where you will primarily collaborate with construction team members located in Seattle, WA.
This time will be for familiarizing you with the company and team before traveling.
Duties/
Responsibilities:
Apply project and construction management best practices.
Work alongside Site Superintendents and Project Managers to work with owner and facility staff to ensure understanding of construction process, project progress, timelines, schedule, and budget.
Support the construction group in coordinating on-site project team, contractors, schedule, owner correspondence, drawing management, submittals, approvals, and deliveries.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Pursuing a degree in construction management, civil or mechanical engineering, or architecture Able to both collaborate with a team and work independently Ability to meet deadlines Strong written and verbal communication skills Must be a Sealaska shareholder, descendant of a shareholder, or spouse of a shareholder Legally authorized to work in the United States Ability to travel as needed Education and
Experience:
Must be age 18 at time of hire Must be currently enrolled in post-secondary school/program or a recent graduate (1-2 years) Legally authorized to work in the United States Preferred:
Familiar with Microsoft Office software applications, including Excel and Word At least a 2.
5 GPA Strong critical thinking and research skills Self-starter with ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment Application Process:
