Day (3x12) As an EP Tech, you will be a vital member of our cardiology department, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac rhythm disorders.
Your expertise in electrophysiology procedures and your ability to operate complex equipment will contribute to delivering high-quality patient care and ensuring accurate cardiac assessments.
Responsibilities:
Assist the medical team in performing a variety of electrophysiology procedures, including cardiac ablations, device implants, and mapping studies.
Prepare and position patients for procedures, ensuring proper site marking and adherence to sterile techniques.
Set up and operate specialized EP equipment, such as mapping systems, fluoroscopy machines, and recording devices.
Collaborate closely with the electrophysiologist and other healthcare professionals to provide real-time monitoring and support during procedures.
Document and maintain accurate records of procedures, patient information, and equipment usage.
Monitor patients' vital signs and cardiac rhythms throughout procedures, responding promptly to any changes or complications.
Educate patients about the procedures, answering their questions and alleviating any concerns.
Assist in the interpretation of cardiac data, including electrograms and intracardiac signals.
Maintain the cleanliness and functionality of equipment, reporting any malfunctions for prompt resolution.
Adhere to radiation safety protocols and infection control measures to ensure patient and staff safety.
Collaborate with colleagues to ensure efficient workflow and the delivery of exceptional patient care.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of an accredited Electrophysiology Technician program preferred.
Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Electrophysiology Technician.
Proficiency in operating EP equipment, including mapping systems, fluoroscopy machines, and recording devices.
Knowledge of electrophysiology procedures such as cardiac ablations, device implants, and mapping studies.
Strong understanding of cardiac anatomy, rhythms, and electrophysiological concepts.
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
Experience with documentation systems and electronic medical records.
Knowledge of radiation safety protocols and infection control measures.
Ability to assist in the interpretation of cardiac data.
