Summary of Duties:
The Institute for Research and Education to Advance Community Health (IREACH) is a Washington State University institute conducting transdisciplinary research to promote health and healthcare equity among Indigenous and other underserved and rural populations.
IREACH is one of the largest units dedicated to American Indian, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander health in the United States with new areas of inquiry and active research to include Hispanic/Latinx and rural health.
IREACH also houses an emerging practice-based research network of 200 primary care facilities around the state that serve rural, American Indian, and other underserved populations.
We are searching for a dynamic and engaged Research Project Manager or Senior Research Project Manager, passionate about community health and health equity.
This position will participate in a collaborative, extramurally funded program of research focused on health research with Indigenous populations within the IREACH portfolio.
This recruitment may be used to fill multiple positions.
This position could be appointed at either the Research Project Manager or Senior Research Project Manager level.

This position's primary responsibilities will involve managing complex and advanced research projects within IREACH.
The Research Project Manager and Senior Research Project Manager will oversee human subjects' recruitment and interviewing, preparing human subject applications, and data management and collection.
They will also be responsible for writing and editing technical reports and manuscripts for publication or presentation, developing and monitoring project budgets, preparing progress reports/proposals, and acting as a liaison between the project team, research partners, and funding agencies.
The Senior Research Project Manager will have the added duties of leading manuscript writing for publication or presentation, developing and monitoring project budgets, and supervising assigned research staff.
An ideal candidate for this level is experienced in conducting performance reviews, mentoring, and hiring research staff.

Qualifications:
Research Project Manager:
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in social or behavioral science or a related discipline and three (3) years of progressively responsible related professional research experience.
Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
Senior Research Project Manager:
This position requires a Master's degree in social or behavioral sciences, business or economics discipline, and four (4) years of progressively responsible related professional research experience.
A Ph.
D.
in a related discipline may be substituted for up to two (2) years of the required work experience.
Any combination of relevant education and experience, which includes at least 2 years demonstrated leadership experience, may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
Additional Requirements:
Demonstrated professional research experience that includes preparation of IRB documents and understanding of human subjects compliance and regulations.
Demonstrated experience with proactive problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently, and the ability to take the appropriate autonomous initiative to carry out study-related functions with human subjects.
Outstanding interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Experience in the Microsoft Office suite of products.
Willing to work evenings and weekends on occasion to meet the needs of the project, including scheduling participant visits and contacts, as well as meeting project deadlines.
Possession of valid driver's license by date of hire.

Qualifications:
Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in working with Native communities.
Experience working in a research environment.
Excellent proofreading skills, and a strong attention to detail.
Experience working with internet applications.
