Key job responsibilitieso Manages Store Designer resources ensuring development timelines, store budgets and store count targets are achievedo Sets strategic goals for the Store Design teamo Owns the execution of Design standards, processes, tools and systemso Manages consultants (including negotiating fees), managing their work flow and capacity along with quality assuranceo Owns setting direction and coordination across construction and facilities on programmatic changes (e.

customer experience, cost savings initiatives)o Owns and leads the development of the store design playbooko Writes program documents that drive new innovations, outline testing/analysis to inform design decisions, or define standards and processeso Owns the tools and processes to ensure jurisdictional and landlord requirements are incorporated into the design of the storeo Works with key internal and external stakeholders (including architecture firms) in the production of comprehensive design development package standards including but not limited to Pre-Construction, Construction, Engineering, Concept Design, Launch, Operations, Category, Security, Safety and Techo Aligns cross-functional team members on category layout, coordination fixture layout, and implementation of technical requirementso Aligns teams toward simple, coherent designs aligned with business objectiveso Leads design review meetings with cross-functional teams and senior leadershipo Owns the strategy for quality assurance checks on Construction Drawings for design studioo Owns the strategy for jurisdictional review and required revisions to the Construction Drawings to obtain required permitso Owns the strategy to ensure landlord approvals for store design considerations are obtained per lease requirementsA day in the lifeAmazon seeks a Manager to lead the Amazon Convenience Store Design team responsible for designing new physical stores, rolling out new concepts, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across our portfolio of open locations.
Responsible for the execution of design standards, processes, tools and systems across the store design team; this position collaborates with internal and external cross-functional teams to manage the execution of multiple end-to-end projects at any given time.

A strong people manager who fosters a collaborative working environment across multiple design disciplines including:
interior design, architecture and mechanical design.

This candidate can independently complete complex tasks and projects quickly, react with appropriate urgency to immediate needs, take effective action without needing to know the total picture.
Additionally, the candidate must have experience designing and implementing effective mechanisms that drive operational excellence.
