SoFi runs on data! In this role you will be contributing to the long-term success of SoFi's data vision as the most senior engineer in the Data organization providing your expertise and leadership both inside our group to the data engineers, infrastructure engineers, and operations engineers as well as outside our group to the many data producers and consumers at SoFi. Leveraging your knowledge of industry trends and best practices, you will further advance data as a competitive advantage for SoFi by empowering internal teams to ingest, model, and consume data with confidence. This is a highly visible role within the company and you will regularly communicate with the outside teams and senior leadership in building support and awareness of the platform. Working as a senior technical leader for data engineering, data science, and data infrastructure teams you will help create, iterate, and execute on a vision for how data gets ingested, transformed, and served for various use cases across the company. You will provide support and guidance to our various teams via everything from engineering reviews to code reviews. You will flourish as a member of a highly collaborative and supportive team. As an established leader on the team, you will partner with engineering managers and product managers to create an environment of accountability, inclusion and trust. You will be proactive in solving problems with cross functional teams and partners. Lastly, you will use your and the team's success to build trust with the leadership team by demonstrating alignment with their strategic priorities and communicating detailed plans on progress being made. Responsibilities Lead engineer for the SoFi Data organization pushing the envelope for SoFi's next generation of data engineering Execute on the product roadmap to ship features and deliver impact for data engineers, data scientists, and other analytical end users Identify and implement ways to platformize and standardize data practices such as event taxonomies, data cleansing, and modeling techniques Support the product managers as the develop the product roadmap helping to build consensus on which features will further the impact of the data platform Monitor KPIs for the various teams and help them to optimize their performance against our goals Lead large, cross-functional technical efforts with data science, business intelligence, and other teams to further the impact of the data platform Basic
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher with an engineering and technical discipline 3 years of experience as a senior technical leader in a multi-team organization leading other senior engineers Deep fluency in data, with experience ranging across data modeling, data warehousing, business intelligence (BI) and analytics engineering Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal, especially with engineering, other product managers, business stakeholders, and data scientists Comfortable with technologies such as SQL, Python, Snowflake, airflow, spark, and dbt Comfort making decisions in an atmosphere of high ambiguity A strong sense of ownership and bias for action Preferred
Qualifications:
Masters in data/analytics, or other advanced technical degree 6
years overall experience in the data space with a broad range of experience including at least two of infrastructure, operations, and data engineering Demonstrated experience building, shipping and maintaining complex data platforms Experience leading and mentoring other engineers including other senior and staff engineers Passion for fin tech Why you'll love working here:

Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Data Science & Machine Learning, Systems Architecture & EngineeringEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
