This is a highly visible role within the PD&E functions. Work directly with key technical & functional leads across the globe and drive the development and implementation of Enterprise technology innovation strategy. The successful candidate leads the planning and execution of an Enterprise Technology Strategy that supports technology-enabled innovation. The goal of the strategy is to build organizational capabilities that support core technologies evolution (e.g. materials engineering, naval architecture, NVH) and strategies for transformational technologies new to the business(e.g. autonomy, connectivity, electrification, sustainability technologies). The success of this position is measured in how the strategies and projects lead to impact across the entire business value chain. The position reports directly to the Vice President Enterprise Technologies and will be located in Mettawa, Illinois, at Brunswick's global headquarters. Key Activities And Areas Of Responsibilities Include:
Leads the execution of the Enterprise technology innovation strategy in collaboration with key technical and functional leads at Brunswick. Actively engages internal stakeholders to build technology capabilities and strengthen the performance of Brunswick as an integrated enterprise. Responsible for the Enterprise Technology Council and the Business Innovation Fund. The Tech Council collaborates in the development and execution of a portfolio of enterprise technology innovation projects. Responsible for leading a matrix organization in the technology delivery process for emerging technologies ( e.g. ACES-related) focused on the goal of business transition into a product delivery process or other form of solution delivery. Responsible for enterprise technology innovation management through process enhancements, innovation management tools, and innovation metrics. Establishes and manages external technology partnerships with industry, R&D organizations, and academic institutions in that enhances or accelerates Brunswick's technology capability building. Generates effective technology communications for internal and external stakeholders. A key leader in the Enterprise Technologies organization that supports the VP Enterprise Technologies in budget planning and administration and the annual technology strategy process. Job Specifications & Profile An MS degree in engineering is required with additional MBA or PhD preferred. 10
years of combined experience in engineering, technology management, and business development with industrial or consumer product companies Experience working in technology innovation management in a public organization is preferred. Candidates must be willing to develop additional innovation capabilities. Experience working in commercial product development processes (stage gate, agile, or hybrid) Career achievements to include leading the evaluation and technology roadmap development and execution with an emphasis on ACE and digital transformation Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to shape strategic decisions into succinct deliverables for Senior Management and the Board of Directors (e.g., white papers, PowerPoint, etc.) Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and advance multiple high priority projects. Engaging interpersonal approach that inspires open dialogue and collaboration. In addition to a strong analytical and insight capability, the preferred candidate will have a strong record of providing innovative solutions to activate opportunities or overcome obstacles. Salary Range:
$250K -- $500K+
