This is an opportunity to use economics and applied science to maximize the overall value prop of Amazon to shoppers, advertisers and merchants by jointly optimizing for the Stores and Ads business.
We are hiring an Economist who is excited to work on some of the most ambiguous problems at the company with the largest potential impact.
In this role you will be working to evolve core algorithms that allocate roughly 25% of the pixels on the Amazon website and App.
This will include inventing novel algorithms such leveraging ML for causal inference at scale, bandits and RL all while respecting privacy, context and heterogeneity across Ads and organic content.
We are looking for expertise in causal inference and statistics.
The goal is to invent new science and metrics to help people find what they want.
Cross organization impact is likely meaning there is material career growth upside for this position.
You will work collaboratively with a team of economists, applied scientists, and engineers in this position.
You will help us think about big questions including but not limited to:
How can we improve the customer experience by tailoring what we display on our pages based on available data? How do we build models that help us innovate in different ways to enhance customer experience? What is the relationship between what customers do on the site vs.
what they actually buy?Your work will directly benefit shoppers, advertisers, and the Stores business by improving measurement creating and using new scientific tools.
We are looking for a passionate, hard-working, and talented Economist who has experience building mission critical, high volume applications that customers love.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
