We are seeking a resourceful and strategic Principal in Supply Chain Management to develop and oversee our Supplier Diversity & Inclusion Program.
This role will accelerate progress towards long-term goals in procurement and formalize best-in-class practices for retail selection.
The role will bring best practices from the industry and across Amazon's Supplier Diversity & Inclusion teams to bolster our program in grocery.
The role will establish analytics and performance metrics related to Supplier Diversity and build mechanisms to drive results.
The ideal candidate will have experience leading supplier diversity programs in a retail environment and a strong track record for accelerating programs and delivering results.
We are a dynamic organization, and the ideal candidate is a quick learner who excels in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
This role is both an inventor and operator.
We seek a person who can think big picture and long-term to define strategy and influence leadership, while also rolling-up their sleeves to dig into the data and effectively manage events and initiatives aimed at increasing supplier diversity.
Key job responsibilitiesKey
Responsibilities:
o Establish plans to accelerate progress towards supplier diversity, including:
crafting recommendations and guidelines on sourcing strategy, negotiation strategy, contract awards, and supplier management.
o Align resources and mechanisms with partner teams to deliver on the Supplier Diversity strategy.
o Cultivate and maintain relationships with diverse supplier organizations and other industry opportunities to enhance the grocery team's impact and leadership in grocery.
o Develop diverse suppliers in collaboration with business for future opportunities and requirements.
o Design and lead marketing and events aimed at increasing our network of diverse suppliers.
o Think Big to invent novel opportunities to broaden our diverse supplier network to provide desired selection to customers, while positively impacting communities.
o Analyze and report on supplier diversity program and metrics for both senior executives and executional teams.
o Develop and execute internal communications to celebrate our progress, reflect our learnings and advance Amazon's leadership in supplier diversity.
A day in the lifeThe first half of your day, you're monitoring progress on short- and long-term goals using both the analytics you've developed and qualitative insights from stakeholder teams.
You steer a range of one-on-one and small-group discussions to remain plugged in to evolving business plans - always alert to identify hurdles or opportunities that may hinder/help progress.
The second half of the day you are crafting a 3-page proposal for executive leaders on a new engagement model that will improve our ability to deliver on the supplier diversity goals.
At the end of the day, you recognize one of your stakeholder teams is at risk of not meeting their supplier diversity goal.
You assess the situation, determine how best to course-correct, then craft a note to the applicable executive lead to surface the concern and your recommended course of action.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
