Let's Redefine Possible Are you detail-oriented and organized? Do you love collaborating and working with a team?Mortenson is currently seeking a passionate Senior Safety Engineer to implement Mortenson's Zero Injury Safety program across multiple sites.
You will ensure the program creates a safe work environment for team members, subcontractors, and visitors to the construction site.
You should possess the ability to interact with staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment.
Demonstrating the capability to be flexible, inventive, dedicated, and efficient with a high level of integrity and confidentiality will be vital for success.
The base compensation range for this role is $100,000 - $140,000.
This range is adjusted for Seattle, WA by increasing the overall range by 10%.
This position is eligible for a potential annual bonus.
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skill, and experience with consideration given to internal equity.
RESPONSIBILITIESOrganization, flexibility, excellent customer focus, and strong communication are critical in performing duties, which include, but are not limited to:
Implement and administer a safety program at each worksiteAssist project management team in developing site-specific safety programs and activitiesFormulate, coordinate, and conduct safety orientation and training programsDocument and track all safety violations, unsafe conditions, etc.
Conduct safety work area auditsConduct project's loss control data/document collection and trend analysesAssist with major incident analysisRecord, monitor, and analyze Safety, Injury, and Hazard statisticsLead OSHA reporting and posting requirementsMonitor and review subcontractor activities for safety concernsReview Safety Submittals and attend preconstruction and preparatory meetings with subcontractorsLead Return to Work and Modified duty assignmentsProvide a resource of safety-related informationEvaluate and offer solutions for industrial hygiene concernsMaintain operational knowledge of construction safety, OSHA, ANSI, and other applicable standards and proceduresServe as a resource for safety issues or concerns for all project team members/managementAttend and/or chair safety meetingsOther duties as assignedWork with client safety personnel, union representatives, insurance risk engineers, etc.
Accompany safety, health, insurance, and OSHA personnel on work-site toursEnsure maintenance and inspection of safety equipment and protective wearMinimum six years of relevant experienceShow detail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasksDisplay ability to work in Microsoft Office and pertinent safety-related software programsDemonstrate a positive professional attitude and strong customer service skillsAbility to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies to team members and outside partiesStrong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skillsEffective public speaking and presentation skillsCurrent driver's licenseQUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in safety, occupational health, or a related fieldIf no Bachelor's degree, high school diploma, CHST Certification, OSHA 500 and minimum of ten years construction experience leading crews and planning work, including at least six years as a dedicated construction safety professional responsible for managing safety programs, conducting hazard analysis and developing controls, and planning work activities or equivalent experience in a relevant field.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
