Our client has a brand new opportunity for a Junior Data Engineer (SQL) to join their team onsite in Seattle, WA.
This engineer will be working with the Decision Support team to improve the delivery of intuitive, interactive analytics solutions for decision makers.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Manage and support the client Organizational Hierarchy (OH), a multi-level structured pyramid whereby authority, access, and control flows from the top to the bottom simulating a chain of authority for people and financial activities connected to people Creatively identify process improvement opportunities across the enterprise, including the University Budget Office (UBO), who serves as air traffic control for changes within the organization that impact the main source data for the OH and other systems that consume this data or depend on the structure of the OH Assist in the evaluation of opportunities for engineering simplification Build SQL skills by mainlining and supporting the OH Gain hands-on experience with Jira in OH support activities Create documentation to help users understand the OH Support the University s reporting infrastructure by managing user access in SSRS and PowerBI Communicate with end users to explain and troubleshoot official reports across the University Gather details and create requirement documents on requested reporting updates and new reports from end users Manage and enhance the OH execute hierarchy changes while looking for process and technology opportunities to streamline Provide production support Triage Jira tickets for the OH Write documentation Assist in setting up best practices / standards and report catalogs Skills and
Qualifications:
Experience with Operational Data Stores Experience with SQL stored procedures, from developing through troubleshooting Experience with the Microsoft PowerBI Service (now named Microsoft Fabric) Experience with Microsoft PowerBI Desktop Familiarity with Higher Education hierarchies preferred Experience with WhereScape or other data warehousing tools that load and transform data sent from an ERP preferred Basic understanding of Data Analytics, Data Warehousing and SQL preferred Ability to communicate effectively with non-technical end-users about technical solutions Strong cross-functional relationship management Ability to manage completing priorities Strong attention to detail $45.
