The Dietitian assesses patient nutritional status and needs, develops and implements nutritional care plans, and evaluates and reports those results appropriately. She/he provides clinical dietitian services and/or nutrition education services to either/both inpatients or outpatients, as assigned, either in a group setting or individually.
Educational Requirements
Requires bachelor's degree with major in Dietetics or Food & Nutrition, and
Requires completion of American Dietetic Association approved dietetic education program.
Licensure, Registration, Certificate

Both Clinical and Outpatient Education Dietitian: Registered Dietitian is required (or must be eligible for registration at the time of hire and must pass registration exam within three months of date of hire).
Clinical Dietitian: Washington State Certified Dietitian (CD) is required within 3 months of date of hire.
Outpatient Education Dietitian: Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) is preferred, within two years of date of hire.
Special Training/Skills
Able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit/department.
Persuasive, negotiation skills--to educate and motivate clients / patients to adapt eating habits to diet prescription.
Work Experience Preferred
At least 1 year previous hospital dietetic experience is preferred.
Physical Abilities
Incumbent must be able to move to various units throughout the hospital.
For the efficient delivery of services to customers, this job requires sufficient English-language skills to understand and be understood when interacting with customers, visitors, patients, coworkers, management, and other members of the healthcare team including physicians.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
