Our Biology Departmenthas an outstanding opportunity for apart-time, 75% Research Technologist 1.
The laboratory studies neuron development using Drosophila as a model organisms, with a focus on sensory neuron development/function. Lab technicians are expected to work in close collaboration with supervisors. The successful applicant will be expected to assist graduate students with components of larger projects. Assist with general lab upkeep including care of the Drosophila stocks, in which all lab members including the PIs participate. Specific duties to include:
1. Following established lab protocols for dissection and microscopy.
2. Identifying Drosophila mutations that affect neuron growth
3. Routine maintenance of Drosophila and mosquito stocks, including transferring of stocks, monitoring health of stock collection.
4. General laboratory upkeep including ordering of supplies and preparation of reagents.
5. Data entry; collect, verify and record data.
6. Participate in lab meetings.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree in Biology and/or Neurobiology, and experience with Drosophila genetics required.
DESIRED:
Familiarity with Drosophila neuroanatomy, Drosophila genetic markers, confocal microscopy, PCR techniques and stereology are desired.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
